
The
Subtropical Gardens ofWedding venue – “The Cupola” situated in the middle of the garden with beautiful vistas over St Anthony’s Headland and the lighthouse. This is a temple like structure of five stone pillars with a wrought iron dome. The dome is lined, for the purpose of the ceremony only, with a cream waterproof lining for sun and light rain protection.
The area inside the cupola is sufficiently large to
accommodate, a table and chairs, the bride and groom, the Registrar and his/her
assistant, the witnesses and a small group of immediate family, (approximately
12 people) plus of course the prescriptive photographer.
The area outside the cupola can accommodate, in addition, up to 25 people.
The weather being what it is however, requires that we have in addition to the normal venue in the garden, a second venue in the drawing room of the house.
Flowers – Any professional flower arranging must be
arranged with Mrs Barbara Hall (details on request). She is a local lady who
regularly organises wedding decorations at St Just in Roseland Church, the
Castle and The Tresanton Hotel. Not only she is very artistic and a fully
trusted person, she also has access to the house at any time, and her prices are
extremely competitive.
Refreshments – The terrace by the house will be available for
the serving of drinks. A glass of champagne will be offered to all the guests by
your hosts by prior agreement with you.
Photograph Opportunities – Photographs can be taken
anywhere in the garden jewelled with very unusual exotic plants (there are
hundreds of palms and tree ferns)
as well as a wonderful collection of camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons for a
typical Cornish scene. There are in addition beautiful structures i.e. Venetian
Bridge, Japanese Pond, Koi Pond…. Many besides the cupola have breathtaking
backdrops of the sea.
Should the weather be really inclement, the photograph session may be postponed to alternative date with prior agreement.
Hire of the Venue – The cost of the hire will be between £750 up to 20 people and £1,000 up to 30 people. This will include preparation of the site, interview room, champagne refreshments, two hours in the garden after the finalisation of the Wedding Ceremony to include, refreshments and photographic session. Ceremonies will have to be booked for a Saturday or Sunday. Other days may be available on request. Due to the fact that Lamorran is our private home, we are planning to allow only a small number of weddings per year and therefore an early booking is recommended.
Facilities – Car parking facilities are a little restricted although 10/12 cars can be easily parked outside the house gates. There are two cloakrooms for the use of the wedding party. An interview room will also be made available to the Registrar to talk briefly to bride and groom separately before the ceremony takes place.
